The Gourmet Book Festival returns to Périgueux in November 2026

Established in 1990, the Périgueux Gourmet Book Festival has established itself as a major event dedicated to culinary literature and gastronomy. The 21st edition is held on Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2026. Over the course of three days, the public is invited to explore different aspects of the world of food, ranging from literature and cooking to the passing on of traditions and reflection on eating habits. The official website of the Gourmet Book Festival features, amongst other things, talks, cookery demonstrations, workshops, masterclasses and discussions.

The 2026 edition will be held under the honorary presidency of the chef Jean-François Piège. The festival also places great emphasis on authors, chefs, food industry professionals and young people.

The town’s programme for November 2026 also complements the festival with several events dedicated to gastronomy. The 11 November, a family treasure hunt called «Dédale gourmand» invites you to explore the old shopping streets of Le Puy-Saint-Front. The 12 November, a film screening and discussion centred on the film Delicious is being organised as part of the festival. On 16 November, a guided tour focusing on Périgueux’s historic gastronomic sites will also explore this theme further.
